Hello Mr. Johnson, we have conducted a thorough evaluation of the machine through detailed physical inspection (including full bottom cover removal), power tests, and observation of behavior to understand exactly where and why it’s failing.
Summary of the Issue
Your Lenovo Yoga 7 14ITL5 briefly powers on (fan spins, charging light flashes, and we saw the Lenovo logo on screen once during testing), but then shuts off shortly afterward.
The power button is completely recessed/stuck with no travel when pressed.
The Novo button also does not respond.
Our Diagnosis
Based on the consistent failure pattern, the physical damage from the drop, chassis flex around the power button area, and extensive knowledge of common issues with this specific Lenovo Yoga 7 14ITL5 model, here are the most likely causes:
Most Likely (≈ 85–90% probability):
The drop caused the chassis to bend and jammed the power button mechanism.
This damaged or misaligned the small power button daughterboard and its ribbon cable.
The main motherboard, battery, SSD, and other components are fine — we confirmed this during testing.
Less Likely Possibilities (combined ≈ 10–15% or lower):
Slightly loose connectors from the impact or minor power delivery instability due to the bent chassis.

DIY Steps You Can Try at Home (If you decline to have us repair it for you)
Here are safe steps for this model (tools needed: T5 Torx screwdriver, plastic pry tool, tweezers):
- Power off completely and unplug the charger.
- Remove all bottom cover screws (T5 Torx). Note longer screws near hinges.
- Gently pry the bottom cover starting from the front edge and work around the clips.
- Immediately disconnect the battery (pull the multi-colored wire connector straight up by the white plastic housing).
- Locate the small blue power button board on the right side near the button area (white ribbon cable labeled POWER or GY G41).
- Carefully disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable (use tweezers on the plastic part only — push firmly until it clicks).
- If replacing the board: Remove the holding screw(s), swap the board, and reconnect the ribbon.
- Reconnect battery, snap cover back on, and reinstall screws.
- Test: Plug charger into the left USB-C port (with
